Daniel Ponce De Leon Eyes a Jhonny Gonzalez Clash

By Rick Reeno

Former champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (41-3, 34KOs) is targeting a showdown with newly crowned WBC feathweight king, Jhonny Gonzalez (48-7, 42KOs). Ponce De Leon told BoxingScene.com - "I want that fight. It's a good fight for me."

Golden Boy Promotions is interested in making that fight. Ponce De Leon will fight on the Saul Alvarez-Ryan Rhodes undercard on June 18 in Guadalajara, Mexico. A fight with Gonzalez is unlikely for June. If all goes well in Guadalajara, Alvarez is going to return on September 17 on HBO pay-per-view, and Ponce De Leon is a possibility for that card as well. Golden Boy would like to make the fight between Ponce and Gonzalez for the September card.

Pounce wins this one. But I could see Johnny outboxing him. But I think Ponce catches Johnny eventually.

Interesting fight but I am fairly sure Jhonny Gonzalez taxes that ass

The arrogant Prima Donna Adrien Bronner was given a GIFT decision by Golden Boy judges. There is NO WAY in HELL Broner won that fight. Stevie Wonder would have done better judging that fight. De Leon was robbed big time!
