Cristian Mijares Wants 122 Title or Orlando Salido Shot

Former champion Cristian Mijares (45-6-2, 21KOs) returns on Saturday night against Osejo Eusebio (21-10-2, 7KOs) in a ten round super bantamweight at Palenque de Gallos in Aguascalientes.

Mijares hopes to move forward to a major title shot by the end of the year. If he can't get anyone at 122, he asked promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions to make a fight with WBO featherweight king Orlando Salido (38-11-2, 26KOs). Beltran also promotes Salido.

"I want to be world champion and I know I can do it. I have the motivation and confidence in myself to beat Osejo and to be ready for a championship fight at 122 pounds or against Orlando Salido at 126. I feel ready for any champion. My promoter Fernando Beltran has promised that this year I'm going to have a big fight."

This is a new Mijares, well prepared, much stronger and now with punching power. Even Donaire ducked him recently after being a few weeks in preparation.

Mijares wouldn't get KOd just like that in the first round guys or even that early on the fight, lets be real. Mijares does have some pretty cool defensive repertoire and an OK chin. However Salido is big for Mijares,…

Mijares is out of his mind, Salido would trounce him. The guy was hit with bombs from juanma lopez and gamboa and just kept going forward. Mijares may have better boxing skills but it wont be enough to keep Salido…
