Welterweight Alex Saucedo will fight Angel Martinez on October 24, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told BoxingScene.com recently.
The six round bout will take place on the undercard of the Terence Crawford-Dierry Jean bout at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb.
Saucedo (18-0, 13 KOs) last fought on May 30, when he stopped Jake Giuriceo in the fourth round in Hollywood, Calif.
Top Rank, which promotes Saucedo, has brought him along slowly, but believe he could have a breakout year in 2016.
“We’re very high on him,” Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler told BoxingScene.com.
Word is Saucedo could fight one more time in 2015 before Top Rank begins to push Saucedo more in higher-profile bouts in 2016.
