Cotto Says Mayorga's "Games, Insults" Will Not Work

By Jhonny Gonzalez

On Thursday in New York City, the media tour will begin for Miguel Cotto's next defense of the WBA junior middleweight title. The opponent on March 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is former champion Ricardo Mayorga. The media is ready for Mayorga's press conference antics. Mayorga's pre-fight insults and crazy behavior has made him a press conference favorite among fans and writers.

Mayorga and several opponents have exchanged punches at press conferences. Cotto is ready for Mayorga's insults and mind games. He says Mayorga's pre-fight tricks will not succeed.

"We know what Mayorga is capable of. We know very well. He's like a book and we've already read it. I will do my job as I've always done. I will not allow him to take away my peace," Cotto told Jose Sanchez.
