Corcoran: I'll Bring Horn Right Back To 9th of Pacquiao Fight

Gary Corcoran believes Jeff Horn is haunted by the memory of his punishing ninth round win against Manny Pacquiao and intends to make him re-live that painful experience on Wednesday night.

Horn's clash with England's Corcoran at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre will be his first since his WBO welterweight title win over Pacquiao earlier this year.

But it could have all been so different for the 29-year-old former schoolteacher, who was pummelled so badly by Pacquiao in round nine that referee Mark Nelson nearly stopped the fight.

A bruised and bloodied Horn recovered brilliantly and arguably had the better of the last three rounds but Corcoran believes the ordeal will have drained him irrevocably.

"It takes a lot out of you, fights like that," Corcoran told reporters on Monday.

"You'll see on the day.

"I've seen the pictures, him lying there with the ice on his head and all that.

"That ninth round where Jeff was, I'm going to bring him back there."

Horn raised his eyebrow at those comments and said if anything, his ninth round against Pacquiao proved how tough he is.

"I thought I showed straight away that I came back from it and I won the next three rounds," Horn said.

"I got into a real hole where I got hit, I got hurt and I was able to survive that whole round in that pain and come back and fight even stronger to the end.

"I'm expecting to use that improvement in this fight as well."

Corcoran's camp was at pains to point out Pacquiao was a long way from his best when he fought Horn.

"I'm not selling it short. I'm underlining the fact that they haven't beat the version of Manny Pacquiao that created the legend," co-trainer Frank Greaves said.

"Listen, he's still a good fighter and I'm not discrediting Jeff.

"(But) the version of Pacquiao that beat (Miguel) Cotto ... let's have it right, he bashes Jeff, and probably does the same to Gary."
So even Corcoran's trainer doesn't think his own fighter is Pacquaio level lol.
A young Pac, not this older version. Pac is a gate keeper now and Horn got a pass in Australia. Anywhere else and Pac slams the gate…
