UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has hailed Amir Khan following the boxer's crushing loss to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
Khan, 29, suffered a devastating defeat to 'Canelo' in the later hours of Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The Olympian was knocked out cold in the sixth round of his WBC middleweight title contest with the Mexican, who is now eyeing a unification fight with Kazakh wrecking machine Gennady Golovkin.
Khan's foray into the middleweight division saw him step up a staggering two weight divisions.
His decision to challenge Alvarez has seen him earn the respect of many of boxing's elite fighters, who took to various social networking websites to praise the Bolton slugger.
And it has also seen him earn the respect of McGregor, who also stepped up two weight classes in his last outing and was chocked out by the much bigger man in Nate Diaz.
"Respect to Khan," he tweeted. "Most established fighters these days look down the divisions for a fight. Very few are looking up."
