Cintron: Berto Knows I Would Knock Him Out in Three!

By Chris LaBate

Former champion Kermit Cintron has responded to the recent comments of WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto. During an interview with Suge Green of OnTheGrind Boxing Radio, Cintron discussed Berto's recent response, where the unbeaten champion said he "doesn't fear Cintron" but he doesn't have too much interest in the fighting him either.

"I know he definitely don't want to fight me. He is going to continue making excuses. He knows deep inside of him that I would knock him out in less than three rounds," Cintron said.

"They are continuing to put him in with these B-class fighters and he's making this ridiculous amount of money. I've been in there with a lot of great fighters and I'm not even near the amount of money that he's getting for these easy fights. Have him fight a true welterweight who could fight. He still hasn't done that. They continue to put him in with B-class fighters."

Cintron has been following Berto's career for a long time. He says the opposition of berto plummeted after the fight with Luis Collazo in 2009. Berto won a very close twelve round unanimous decision.

"I don't know if he has the heart to step in the ring with the best. He fought a B-plus fighter in Collazo and in my opinion Collazo beat him and a lot of people think Collazo beat him. And ever since that fight he's been fighting these B-class fighters," Cintron said.
