Christy Martin Returns on Cotto-Mayorga Undercard

By Mark Vester

According to Lem Satterfield of BoxingScene.com/FanHouse.com, female boxing icon Christy Martin (49-5-3, 31KOs) will return to action on the Miguel Cotto-Ricardo Mayorga pay-per-view undercard on March 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Martin, 42-years-old, will take part in a fight scheduled for six rounds.

In November, Martin was hospitalized after being shot and stabbed in her Orange County, Florida. home. Martin's 66-year-old husband, James Martin, was arrested in connection with the incident, and later charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a weapon.

[QUOTE=Clyde Barrow;9916669]Martin and Laila are the only female boxers I ever bothered trying to watch. Glad Martin is feeling alright after getting attacked by her guy, but coming back to boxing probably isn't going to go to well for her…

Mayweather was considering Christy Martin for his next fight but there was one problem...he only beats on women who don't box for a living.

Insert your favorite Victor Ortiz vs Christy Martin joke... Yes I was being sarcastic. We're all tired of BS Top Rank cards.

I'm glad she's ok , but if this is true, the fight better not be televised!!!!
