Chocolatito vs. Cuadras: Ryan Martin Added To The Card

By Steve Kim

Before Roman Gonzalez takes on WBC 115-pound titlist Carlos Cuadras and Jesus Soto-Karass and Yoshihiro Kamegai engage in their rematch on HBO at the Forum in Inglewood, California on September 10th - lightweight prospect Ryan Martin will be in action.

"Ryan will be the first televised fight on the international broadcast and we're happy to have him back on the show,"said Tom Loeffler, the managing director or K2 Promotions. Back on April 23rd as Gennady Golovkin faced Dominick Wade, Martin stopped Rosbel Montoya in five rounds at this venue.

''He was a big hit the last time at the Forum and I know the fans will be happy to see him back in action."

Tim Van Newhouse, who manages 'Blue Chip' tells BoxingScene.com - "September 10th is just another part of the plan for my endeavours to help Ryan become a world champion. Collectively, team 'Blue Chip' works very hard in this process but more importantly Ryan works harder than all of us in the gym. While we continuously look forward to the future, Joe Delguyd and Ryan's job."

"Fermin De los Santos is a big test for us. I'm proud to have the support of Tom Loeffler and WBC president, Mauricio Sulaiman."

The fight with De los Santos is for the WBC World Youth title. Martin has a record of 15-0 (9 KO's) and his last outing came on July 16th in Birmingham, Alabama, where he scored a six round decision over Samuel Amoaka.
