Chocolatito: If Yafai Gives Me The Opportunity - I Won't Miss It!

Four division world champion Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez is mulling the possibility of joining the upcoming card, Superfly 2, which is being targeted for February 24 in Los Angeles, California.

Gonzalez (46-2, 38 KOs) was a part of last month's Superfly card in LA, and was knocked out in four rounds by WBC super flyweight world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai of Thailand.

And the person Gonzalez would like to face most is World Boxing Association super flyweight champion Khalid "Kal" Yafai (22-0, 14 KOs).

Gonzalez would to take an interim fight - but if the opportunity with Yafai is on the table - he may not pass it up.

Yafai defends his title against Sho Ishida on October 28, as part of the Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev undercard in Cardiff.

Although Roman's manager, Carlos Blandon, has assured that he's yet to sit down and speak with his boxer about a comeback - Gonzalez himself announced that he will be back in the gym in the month of November.

"If Yafai gives me the opportunity, I will not miss it," Roman told local media this week, according to La Prensa . "I already saw [Yafai's] fight with Luis 'Nica' Concepción, also the one he did with Cristofer Rosales. He knows how to move, he has his thing, like everyone else, but he is the most accessible [in terms of securing a world title opportunity]."

"There's still nothing clear about what's coming, I'm just resting, engaging with people who support me, and I hope to return to the gym in the first week of November, if God allows me.

The main fight being targeted for the Superfly 2 card, is Sor Rungvisai making a mandatory defense of his WBC title against Juan Francisco Estrada of Mexico. Other top fighters, like Carlos Cuadras, could also appear as part of the event. As previously reported, WBO champion Naoya Inoue will not appear on the card, as he wants to fight in Japan and not come back to the United States until the fall of next year.

The scene of him getting wheeled out on that stretcher is still stuck in my head. Poor guy is gonna get himself hurt bad.
