Charr vs. Duhappas Almost Set For April 10 in Moscow

By Alexey Sukachev

WBC #9 heavyweight Manuel Charr (27-2, 16 KOs) continues his career path, guided by the World of Boxing promotional company (ruled by Andrey Ryabinskiy) with a quality match-up against Frenchman Johann Duhappas (31-2, 20 KOs), and the contract planning to be signed this coming Monday.

Charr, 30, is coming off a stoppage win over Michael Grant, which followed his crushing defeat to Russian heavyweight star Alexander Povetkin. Duhappas, 34, has never stopped in 33 professional contests, and is coming off a very close loss to fringe contender Erkan Teper just a couple of weeks ago. His other loss was in December 2008 to Francesco Pianeta.

The fight will land on the undercard of a huge night of boxing, scheduled for April 10 in Moscow, Russia - where Denis Lebedev will defend his WBA cruiserweight title against interim champion Youri Kayembre Kalenga. At least three quality all-Russian match-ups are taking place on the undercard (Troyanovskiy vs. Shakhnazaryan, Chakhkiev vs. Brudov, Bivol vs. Piternov) and an encounter between red hot cruiserweight prospect Dmitry Kudryashov and former two-time world title challenger Francisco Palacios.
