Charles Martin Aims To Get Klitschko Within a Year

Los Angeles, CA - Undefeated top rated heavyweight contender and current WBO/NABO heavyweight champion “Prince” CHARLES MARTIN scored a devastating first round knockout over England’s TOM DALLAS on Saturday night on the undercard of the Wladimir Klitschko – Bryant Jennings Heavyweight World Championship at Madison Square Garden.

Telecast in over 150 countries, Martin improved to 21-0-1 (19K0’s), with a battering straight left to the head, which called a halt to the action at the 2:56 mark. He is currently ranked #2 by the World Boxing Organization and #5 by the International Boxing Federation.

“It was unbelievable experience to fight at Madison Square Garden in front of over
17,000 fight fans” said the 28-year-old Martin. “The energy level in the arena was outstanding. “

“Klitschko is a great champion and I am excited that I will get the opportunity to fight him very soon, hopefully within the next 12 months.  I believe my strengths match up well with his weaknesses and will make for a terrific fight.”

Said MICHAEL KING of KING SPORTS, Martin’s promoter; “This was a big weekend for Charles. There were over 17,000 people in Madison Square Garden on fight night.”

“It was part of our plan to introduce Charles to big time boxing, but with the spotlight comes the potential for distraction. I am proud to say that none of the hoopla that came with fighting on such a big card distracted him, Charles stayed focused and took care of business so quickly when it came time to perform.”

Stated Martin’s manager MIKE BORAO, “We are exploring some exciting opportunities for Charles and boxing fans can expect a major announcement regarding his future very soon. Until that time we will continue to keep him extremely active.”

Martin has maintained a frenetic pace, having fought 22 times in less than two and one-half years, defeating undefeated prospects Alex Flores (14-0), Glendy Hernandez (10-0) Vincent Thompson (13-0), along with Joey Dwejko (8-2-2) and veterans Kerston Manswell (24-8), Rafael Zumbano Love (35-9-1).

Martin has to prove himself. Let's see if he can take out Amir Mansour, Chris Arreola, or Malik Scott.

Charles is America's best heavyweight. He is better than Wilder. Martin and Parker are the best prospects out there.

Martin has size and power to beat Klitschko. Klitschko chin won't hold up - he was flinching against Jennings.

The last guy he beat is Tom Dallas, someone who has been ko'd by everyone of note that he has faced. Before that he fought Zumbano Love, a guy Joshua is fighting to stay busy/fill a sh*t card before fighting…

This sounds like pipe dream to me. Martin is very unlikely to get a fight with Klitschko any time soon. As Wlad doesn't fight more then twice a year & has got Fury next & if successful a unification with…
