Chagaev Will Be Led To The Ring By Russian Rapper

WBA World Heavyweight Champion Ruslan Chagaev will get a special musical support for his upcoming title defense against Francesco Pianeta next Saturday (July 11th) at GETEC Arena in Magdeburg, Germany. Russian Rap-Superstar Timati will perform live at Chagaev's walk-in.

Just like Chagaev, Timati is well known all around the world and made himself a name as a heavyweight in the music industry with hit songs like "Get Your Groove On" (with Snoop Dogg) or "Welcome to St. Tropez" (with DJ Antoine). The 31-year-old Russian worked with recording artists like P.Diddy, Busta Rhymes and Timbaland. But Ruslan Chagaev is the first World Champion in his resume.

Over the last years numerous international Rap- and Hip-Hop-Superstars entered the boxing business. While 50 Cent failed with his attempt to form a promotional company, Jay-Z is trying to take over the market with "Rocnation Sports". Lil Wayne has been performing at a couple of walk-ins of Pound-for-Pound-king Floyd Mayweather jr.

The WBA World Heavyweight Championship Chagaev vs. Pianeta headlines an all-heavyweight event promoted by Timur Dugazaev (Akhmat Promotion / Terek Box-Event) and Ulf Steinforth (SES Boxing) billed as "Heavy Night" at GETEC Arena in Magdeburg on July 11th. Sat.1 will broadcast the event live in Germany, Austria and Switzerland starting at 10.45pm local time in Germany.
