Super welterweights Cedric Vitu (45-2) and Marcello Matano (17-2) clash in an IBF final eliminator on May 18 at the Cirque d´Hiver in Paris.

The winner will become the mandatory challenger for current IBF champion Jarrett Hurd.

It´s worth noting that while Matano is # 4 in the world according to the IBF, he´s # 20 in the latest EBU ratings. Vitu is # 3 in the IBF ratings and is reigning EBU champ.

Light heavyweight Jonas Madsen (7-0) take on experienced Colombian Beibi Berrocal at the Frederiksberg Hall in Copenhagen on April 7.

Berrocal lost to Patrick Nielsen on his last visit to Denmark.

Madsen went 5-3 in the amateurs but have looked quite impressive in his pro fights. Also on the bill is super middleweight Daniel Heinze (6-1) and he is in against Bruno Tavarez (9-0).  Heinze lost to Derrick "Superman" Findley last time out but put up a good fight.

Super welterweight Vincenzo Bevilacqua (11-0) won the Italian title last night in Rome with a technical decision over Luciano Abis (34-5-1) on a Buccioni Boxing Team promotion. The fight was called off in the seventh with Abis badly cut and it went to the scorecards and Bevilacqua was ahead on scores of 68-65 twice and 67-65.

On the undercard cruiserweight Pietro Aurino (40-3) continued his comeback with a points win over Ukrainan Vitaliy Nevesely (13-2) and welter Michele Di Rocco (41-2-1) won a disqualification over Georgian journeyman Mikheil Avakyan.
