SECONDS out! Boxing champ Carl Froch is counting down to his next big bout…tying the knot with his stunning model lover.
The British fight hero and his girlfriend Rachael Cordingley are desperate for two more children to keep 23-month-old son Rocco company.
And Carl, 34 – nicknamed The Cobra – is adamant he and gorgeous Rachael, 24, will be man and wife when baby number two comes along.
The Nottingham-born boxer was crowned world super-middleweight champion last Saturday in front of 10,000 fans in his home city after battering Canadian-based Romanian Lucian Bute, 32, in the fifth round.
His performance was rated one of the best ever seen from a British fighter on these shores.
And talking exclusively to the Daily Star Sunday yesterday he admitted: “There is only one person on this planet I will ever marry…and you’re looking at her now.”
He went on: “The question will be asked to Rachael sooner rather than later. It will come inside the next 18 months.
“And there is a clear reason for that. Little Rocco is two next month and the time is nearly right to start planning for the next addition.
“We love each other very much and I am looking forward to expanding the family. But marriage will come first. And when I pop the question, it will be to only one person – Rachael.”
As a top model, scouser Rachael has wowed fellas with her sizzling 32DD curves and she won the Miss Maxim UK title in 2007.
Cuddling up to her man yesterday, she learned for the first time of the impending proposal.
“I thought it could be at least five years away – I didn’t realise he had got this game plan in his mind,” she said.
“There’s only one thing on which we disagree about for our next two children.
“I would like to have three boys in all but he would prefer two boys and a girl.” A relieved Rachael climbed into the ring in Nottingham and kissed triumphant Carl when he won the fight.
Afterwards Carl said he was sure Rachael was “looking forward to unleashing the stallion in me”.
She said: “We’ve been together three-and-a-half years now and I don’t think I’ve ever been as ridiculously nervous before a fight.
“But on the night he could not have made me happier. And to do that in his home city, in front of all those thousands of screaming supporters, was an experience I’ll never forget.
“We don’t even have the title belt yet, because they are making it specially at the moment.”
