Odyssey Arena, Belfast, Northern Ireland - Carl Frampton (15-0, 10KOs) beat down Steve Molitor (34-3, 12KOs) for a sixth round TKO victory in a bout where the Commonwealth and WBA Inter-Continental super bantamweight titles were at stake.

Frampton applied a lot of pressure from the start and started walking Molitor down. Molitor was already starting to get worn down in the third and went down against the ropes from a barrage of punches. As the rounds played out, Frampton continued to punish Molitor and dropped him in the fourth. Several knockdowns were scored in the sixth round, but the referee waved most of them off. After one final knockdown, which counted, the ref had seen enough and stopped the fight.

Junior welterweight contender Paul McCloskey (24-2, 12KOs) dominated WBA #8 Manuel Perez (18-8-1, 4KOs) over twelve rounds to win a unanimous decision and captured the WBA's Inter-Continental title. McCloskey was breaking Perez down slow and really gave him a pounding in the tenth but couldn't finish him. The scores were 118-110, 118-111 and 118-112. McCloskey's first fight since the shocking TKO loss to DeMarcus Corley in May.
