New Rochelle, NY, Tuesday, July 12 -- Ireland’s sensational, undefeated champion boxer Carl “The Jackal” Frampton is training in New Rochelle, New York, for his July 30 featherweight championship bout at Barclays Center. Westchester County Executive Robert J. Astorino welcomed him to the county by declaring July 12, “Carl Frampton Appreciation Day” and presented a proclamation to the Belfast, Northern Ireland-native at Champs Boxing Club in New Rochelle.
The Jackal's manager, International Boxing Hall of Famer and former world featherweight champion Barry McGuigan and Barry’s son Shane McGuigan, who trains the Irish star, were on hand for the ceremony.
Carl presented Mr. Astorino with a pair of signed boxing gloves, which the County Executive donned to work the heavy bag under Frampton's tutelage.

Frampton (22-0, 14 KOs) is preparing for his matchup with featherweight world champion Leo Santa Cruz taking place Saturday, July 30 live on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center.
