Canelo Vows To Kick Golovkin's 'F***ing Ass' For PED Comments

Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez has promised to do a lot of damage on IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin - when the two boxers collide in their rematch on May 5 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo wants payback after Golovkin accused him of being a longtime drugs cheat. Golovkin believes Canelo used banned substances for previous fights, including their bout last September, which was ruled a draw.

Canelo tested positive for clenbuterol in mid-February in the fighters' voluntary anti-doping program, and the results were revealed two weeks ago.

While Canelo's have stated that his positive tests were directly connected to eating contaminated meat in Mexico - Golovkin rejected that explanation.

"Again with Mexican meat? Come on," Golovkin said, referring to Alvarez's attribution of his failed test to his consumption of tainted meat in his native country. It's not Mexican meat. This is Canelo. This is his team. This is his promotion ... Canelo is cheating. They're using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it's not happening."

"It was pretty obvious when [Alvarez's] muscles were all [enlarged] ... and with the traces of injections, which were visible," Golovkin said. "I can talk about Oscar De La Hoya, too. He is also not clean. He's dirty."

Canelo has said very little since the controversy broke out, but he took to social media to send direct messages to Golovkin.

In one message, he calls Golovkin a "little bitch" and in another he tells Golovkin - "I'm going to kick your f***ing ass."

In six weeks before the scheduled fight in Las Vegas, the Nevada Athletic Commission still has not announced whether it will level any disciplinary action against Canelo, or even when it might hold a public hearing about the positive test.

According to Golden Boy Promotions, Canelo will remain quiet until the NSAC has finished their investigation, but almost everyone expects the rematch to go forward.

“Kick Golovkins ****ing ass” translates to “I withdraw from fight.”

Looks like Canelo won’t be kicking anyone’s ass for quite some time. If Golovkin can’t get Saunders soon, why not one of the Charlo brothers? They’ve proved themselves to be sort of contenders (at least in the media) and Golovkin…
