Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KOs) stunned the boxing world on Saturday night, when he easily stopped the heavily favored Lucian Bute (30-1, 24 KOs) in five rounds to capture the IBF super middleweight title in Nottingham.

Following the fight, Bute admits that he slipped away from his own game plan and got caught up in fighting Froch's kind of fight. The Canadian superstar is not looking to pack it in. He plans to return even stronger. There is a rematch clause that forces Froch into a Montreal showdown. Based on the recent conversations, both boxers may take interim fights before an immediate rematch.

"I spent too much time trying to exchange punches with him. I thought that even against the ropes, I would be able to get out and surprise him with my left. I wasn't able to manage that. The result is that he hit me with more shots and he caught me," Bute said.

"This is my first defeat, but this is not the end of the world. I will return. I need to rest for now, but I know that I have what it takes to return. I lost several times in the amateurs and I always came back. "

As stated in an earlier article on BoxingScene.com, Froch praised Bute's power. He says the fight may have looked easy from the outside looking in, but Bute's power always had him being cautious.

"Maybe It had looked like an easy fight, but it wasn't the case. The times [Bute] caught me, I realized why he was able to put away so many other boxers. I knew that if I let him hit me repeatedly, I would have problems," Froch said.
