KELL BROOK admits he is gutted to see Amir Khan move ahead of him in the world title stakes
Brook returned to the ring after injury on Saturday to claim an eighth-round win over Carson Jones in Hull.
The win catapulted him back into the world title mix, but he is frustrated at Khan leapfrogging him to challenge IBF welterweight champ Devon Alexander.
Brook has seen possible fights with Alexander fall by the wayside on three occasions this year.
Now, after his first outing since October, he sees a Khan-Alexander contest looming in December – and that frustrates him.
The 27-year-old from Sheffield said: “It is a horrible feeling knowing that he is boxing Devon Alexander.
“He has never boxed at welterweight, has been knocked out however many times in his career and comes along and gets the fight.”
Promoter Eddie Hearn has promised to soften the blow with a major fight in his home city in September.
Details will be announced later this week and Brook is convinced that he will eventually meet Khan.
He was in fine form against Jones, who almost defeated him in their first fight.
This time he was on top in the early rounds but Jones clawed his way back before Brook went in for the kill in the eighth.
