Bradley Skeete Gets Backing From James DeGale

Bradley Skeete says the backing of Olympic Champion James DeGale is making him feel like a million dollars.

DeGale predicted that his close friend to go all the way to the top before he made his debut in October, winning an impressively on points

He returns to action this Saturday (19th February) at Bethnal Green's York Hall on the undercard of Frankie Gavin's British Light-Welterweight title eliminator against Jason Cook, live on Sky Sports 1HD

A highly-regarded amateur, Skeete is 1-0 as a pro, and will be kept busy by promoter Frank Warren in the coming months.

And he's certainly moved around with the best, having worked with DeGale when they were both still in the vest and head-guard.

"Knowing that James is backing me is certainly a boost," confessed Skeete.

"But it adds to the pressure as well because I have to go out there and perform.

"Quite a few people have been saying to me that they are expecting big things form me as a professional.

"It's nice to hear, but I definitely need to repay their faith with some big performances in the ring.

"I don't want to get too far ahead of myself and start making predictions about how far I will go.

"For me, I'll just keep my head down for the next 12 months and fight whoever gets put in front of me and let my fists do the talking."

I hope his fight is televised, good to see he's keeping his head down and not believing his own hype.
