Bradley Saunders Very Excited With Home Return

Bradley Saunders returns home for the first time in his pro career on Friday November 22 when he headlines at the Gateshead Leisure Centre.

The Sedgefield Olympian is hoping to make it to 8-0 when he takes on experienced Hungarian Gyorgy Mizsei Jr; a man who has been in with former world champion Scott Harrison as well as Scouse prospect Thomas Stalker.

“The bout will be the first time I have fought in the North East for some seven or even eight years, as nobody was willing to come here and face me in the amateurs let alone as a professional,” said Saunders, who has KO’d five opponents.

“It’s not only exciting for me though. This will be just the start of what is looking like the return of big time boxing to the area. We will definitely be looking at showcasing the bigger venues in the years to come on Tyneside because the time has come now that we make Newcastle as big as, if not bigger, than the likes of Liverpool and Manchester.”

The ‘Licensed to Thrill’ card – which also features Teeside’s Josh Leather, Simon Vallily and Shafiq Asif, as well as Hartlepool’s Callum Winton, Fishburn’s Gary Fox, Sunderland’s Jordan King, and Newcastle’s Craig Nicholson – has been put together by Wraith Promotions in partnership with Queensberry Promotions.

“This will be a co-promoted show and is a great opportunity to put Wraith Promotions firmly on the map,” explained Steve Wraith.  “Thanks has to go to Bradley for helping things on, introducing me first to Dean Powell, rest his soul, and then the Warrens.

“After detailed conversations between the respective parties we are delighted to be able to say that Wraith Promotions and Queensberry Promotions will be working side by side for the foreseeable future.”
