Billy Dib Targets World Title Eliminator After Latest Win

By Carlos Boogs

Former IBF featherweight world champion Billy Dib won a unanimous twelve round decision over previously undefeated Pharanpetch Tor Buamas in Bankstown on Friday night. The scores were 118-111, 118-110 (twice). Dib is now looking to get himself in position for an IBF eliminator

“It’s one more win away, one more win and it’s a title shot, it’s exactly where I wanted to be,” Dib said. “I’m getting back to the top.”

Dib improved his record to 41-4 (23KO) while Buamas dropped to 17-1 (13KO).

Before the contest, Dib promised to win by knockout. He came out being very aggressive, looking to make good on that statement and threw the feeling out process out the window.

The fight was very grueling and with a lot of rough tactics by both men. Both fighters had their moments, but Dib landed the harder punches, the sharper combinations and rattled the legs of Buamas several times. Dib, was cut over his left eye during the contest, and fought without being bothered.

Buamas did his best to continue pushing with his own hard punches and continued to step things up with a mindset of wearing Dib out. Dib's stamina stayed in order and he never stopped punching with his unbeaten opponent.
