Former welterweight champions Andre Berto (28-1, 22KOs) and Victor Ortiz (29-3-2, 22KOs) are very focused on their scheduled rematch on February 11th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. They first met in April of this year, in a Fight of The Year candidate, with Ortiz pulling away in the second half of the fight to win a twelve round unanimous decision.
The difference in the rematch is the training, says Berto.
"[The difference in the rematch is] just being more focused and having a tremendous training camp, not cutting any corners and just going hard in camp. I believe the camp for the first fight was so-so, I could have did a lot of things better. It is what it is. He came out with the win and I learned a lot from it and now I'm better," Berto told BoxingScene.com.
For his September win over Jan Zaveck, Berto used nutritonist Victor Conte, and noticed a difference is his energy level and strength. He plans to use Conte again in the rematch.
"I'm definitely going to be in contact with him and I'm definitely going to be taking a lot of supplements from him and bring the whole team together," Berto said.
