It was announced earlier today on BoxingScene.com that an agreement was reached that would see WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt face mandatory challenger Takashi Miura.

And it looks like this fight, which will be staged by Golden Boy Promotions, will be held on the West Coast.

"That's the idea, we're looking to do it in the Los Angeles area," said Eric Gomez, the president of Golden Boy, on Tuesday evening.

When asked if a certain destination in Carson (the StubHub Center) would be in the running, Gomez chuckled and told BoxingScene.com.

"There's two or three venues we're looking at but we still don't have the exact date, yet. It can be early as June 24th and it could go up to July. So once we get the confirmed date, we can move quickly," Gomez said.

Gomez says that HBO is interested in this fight.

Back on January 28th Berchelt took the WBC title by stopping Francisco Vargas in eleven rounds at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. On that same card - which was televised by HBO - Miura subdued the game Miguel 'Mickey' Roman in twelve rounds.

Miura (31-3-2, 24 KOs) lost the WBC title in the 2015 Fight of The Year when he was stopped by Vargas at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Vargas was down and badly hurt, but came back from behind to knock Miura out in the ninth round.

Berchelt (31-1, 28 KOs) has come a long way since suffering a shocking first round knockout loss to Luis Florez in March of 2014. Since that defeat, he's won his last ten fights - all by knockout.
