Auditorio Miguel Barragan, San Luis Potosi - Austin Trout (23-0, 13KOs) retained his WBA "regular" junior middleweight title with a dominating twelve round decision over David "Destroyer" Lopez (40-13, 23KOs). At the end of the twelve rounds, the judges saw it 119-109, 117-110 and 118-109, all in favor of Trout.

Lopez had some very good moments in the fight when he caught Trout with hard punches to the jaw. Trout was able to trouble Lopez often with his movement, speed and quicker hands. A controversial moment in the eleventh, when Lopez cracked Trout to the jaw, but the champion held the ropes to prevent himself from going down. Lopez tried to go for a knockout in the twelfth but couldn't finish Trout off.

Ana Maria Torres successfully defended, for the ninth time, the flyweight championship of the World Boxing Council (WBC), after knocking out Brazilian Vanessa Guimaraes in four rounds. Torres punished her opponent and finished her off with a hook to the liver in the fourth, which forced the referee to stop the fight.
