Macau, China - Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is going to do everything possible to finalize a deal for a 2015 mega-match between welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38KOs).

Pacquiao returned to action on Saturday night, dominating and dropping Chris Algieri six times for a very wide points win.

Arum has been dealing with the head of CBS, Les Moonves. CBS is the parent company of Showtime, who have Mayweather under an exclusive contract.

"I trust Les Moonves. For the head of CBS to spend that much time on something would be counter-productive if it was bullsh*t," Arum said.

The veteran promoter says Mayweather-Pacquiao is absolutely necessary for the sport of boxing to be once again viewed as one of the major sports in the United States. Too many years have been spent on negotiations that always fell through and Arum is going to do all he can.

"If boxing is to be considered a major sport the fight has to happen. All the nonsense has to cease. Everyone should work together to make that fight happen. There are no excuses any more. I will be at the phone. We are ready [to make the fight]," Arum saud.
