Valuev Set To Debut on HBO

It has been reported by ESPN scribe Dan Rafael that undefeated WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev is heading over to HBO. It appears that HBO has officially dumped the Antonio Margarito bout that was scheduled for October 7, and replaced it with Valuev defending his title against Monte Barrett in New York's Madison Square Garden.

Barrett adviser Stan Hoffman is hoping that quick movement will be the key to beating the 7-foot giant.

"I've been told it's Oct. 7 and it looks like the Garden unless Don changes it," Barrett adviser Stan Hoffman told ESPN. "I've been to Germany twice to see Valuev fight and Monte has reviewed tapes. He knows he can win. All Monte has to do is use his skills, stick and move and make the guy crazy. That's what I am looking for."

The likely co-feature appears to be a rematch between Polish light heavyweight Tomasz Adamek and Paul Briggs of Australia.

I got the Ruiz fight the other day, & all i could think was Damn!!!, this motherfu$%er's huge, You'd get exhausted just by this dude leaning his 300+lbs *** on you, IMHO & I know this sound harsh, but this dude belongs in a freakshow, not as HW title holder.

Absolutely ******* amazing. Any other fighter fights a hand picked boxer for a title defense and then afterwards they are forced to fight their mandatory by the sanctioning dildo's. Except if you are a Don King Fighter. You can fight all the unworthy bums you like and no one will say anything. What a ******* joke!! Valuev won the WBA and then had a voluntary defense against the scrub Owen Beck. Now instead of him fighting the top rated contender of the WBA he is fighting another hand picked King opponent.

lol you want Barrett to leave boxing? That's ridiculous. I can't count on one hand the number of heavyweights that I'd consider even worth watching. i haven't seen barret fight so i'm not going to comment. i would just like to see him up agaisnt klitchko,rahman/maskev or lyahovich. him fighting toney is a funny image.
