On Monday, the Luton Herald & Post reported that Amir Khan (13-0, 10KOs), 20, would take on Graham Earl (25-2, 12KOs), on December 8 in London.
Earl, who was quoted in the article, claimed that a bout with Khan was pushed back to December, and all that was needed to make it a done deal was his agreement with the fight terms
"They've decided to put it back to December, but it all looks like it should still go ahead. I haven't agreed terms yet, but as long as everything is finalised it will be on and it'll certainly be a big one. It'll be one of the great British fights, but only because of the way Khan has been built up by the media and his team," Earl said. "It's a chance for me to finally shut him up and put him back a peg or two and then look to move on to the major world belts."
Moments ago, Sports Network issued a statement disputing a Dec. 8 bout between Khan and Earl, and says the reports of the fight being made are premature. It was also said that Khan is expected to return to the ring on Oct. 6 at Nottingham Arena.
Recent reports in the media have said that Amir Khan will fight Graham Earl on December 8 in London.
These reports are premature and inaccurate and are to be disregarded.
Khans next officially scheduled fight is on October 6th at the Nottingham Arena against an opponent to be confirmed.
No further dates or venues featuring Khan have been announced by Sports Network and any announcements will be made by way of press release or press conference.
