"Sugar" Shane Mosley (46-7-1, 39KOs), 40-years-old, feels very motivated ahead of his May 5th clash with WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs).
Mosley, who lost three of his last six, is a huge underdog. Most fans and media members expect the 21-year-old champion to walk away with the biggest win of his young career.
“The haters are what keep me motivated. Domination is on my mind. I want to be the best I can be and showcase my strengths. I feel young, but I have the wisdom of an older fighter," Mosley said.
“Canelo will be surprised when he’s not fighting the 40-year-old he thinks I am. Some media members might be overlooking me because of my age. I’m considered an underdog. I like being the underdog and proving people that I am not."
The former three division champion is not thinking victory - he wants to dominate the younger fighter and prove the many doubters wrong.
“I’m not going to rule the fight, I’m going to dominate. I will be the first fighter to beat Canelo," Mosley said.
Alvarez-Mosley is the HBO pay-per-view co-feature to the junior middleweight clash between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto. The event takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
