It appears that Jose Antonio Rivera's (24-0-0, 18 knockouts) WBA junior middleweight title defense against undefeated former champion Travis Simms (38-4-1, 24 KOs) is not going forward on the undercard to the November 4 card topped by Sergei Liakhovich vs. Shannon Briggs, due to miscommunication with the sanctioning body.

It the appears that both fighters had signed on for the bout, but the WBA was unaware of both fighters signing and sent the fight back to the purse bid stage, and in error changed the purse split from 75-25 in favor of Rivera, to an even 50-50 split. The confusion has been settled, but the fight is going to be rescheduled to a date prior to December 31.
