Online publication IOL reports that Silence Mabuza, recently stopped for the second time in his career by IBF/IBO bantamweight champion Rafael Marquez, is already making moves for his next title challenge.
After Marquez announced that he would vacate his IBO/IBF titles and move up to the junior featherweight division, Nic Durandt, manager of Mabuza, called IBO president Ed Lervine about the possibility of Mabuza fighting for the vacant IBO crown. Lervine was impressed with Mabuza's gutsy performance against Marquez and welcomed the idea.
Durandt said the IBO title fight against an opponent yet to be decided would take place in South Africa towards the end of the year.
