A night of failed dreams at the Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke, Leva Kirakosyan destroyed Scott Lawton in three rounds to win the vacant European super featherweight title. Lawton was knocked down in the first minute of the first round from a right hand, then he was rocked in the second round. In the third, Kirakosyan just demolished  Lawton to force the stoppage.

"We knew the dangers," Lawton said. "We knew he was a big hitter but I let one get through and that was the end really. I've achieved a lot in the sport and don't know if there's anywhere else for me to go, really. I'll have to just see."

On the undercard, Chris Edwards regained the vacant Commonwealth flyweight title with a unanimous decision over Abmerk Shindjuu.

The career of Tony Oakey, a former British and WBU light-heavyweight champion, could be over. Danny McIntosh stopped Oakey in two rounds. He dropped Oakey twice in the second round and the second knockdown was for the full count.
