It was reported by the
BBC,
that undefeated WBA welterweight champion Ricky Hatton is feeling a sharp blow to his pockets after witnessing the nine round destruction of Arturo Gatti at the hands of WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir.

Hatton's trainer Billy Graham told the
BBC
that a fight with Gatti would have been a huge money maker in America, but it is not likely that Hatton will target Baldomir as the fighter from Argentina does make financial sense when there are other big fights within the division that could make them a lot more money.

"That's just cost me an absolute fortune. We really needed Gatti to win. Baldomir has got the belt, but he's not really attractive. You've got to be realistic, all the big fights are in the welterweight division, all the big money is in the welterweight division. The decision won't be mine. I've said what I believe, I think Ricky Hatton is a light-welterweight, but money dictates," said Graham.

Graham went on to take a shot at Floyd Mayweather, Jr. by saying that Baldomir is a very beatable fighter, which is why Mayweather will be desperate to fight him, making a knock on Mayweather for recent criticism for not taking enough chances.

I think he [Baldomir] is very beatable. I think Mayweather will be desperate to fight him, let's put it that way."
