International promoter Murad Muhammad says  Philippine and Orient Pacific Boxing Federation No.1 ranked super flyweight Z "The Dream" Gorres will face a stable-mate of Fahsan 3K Battery in one of the supporting bouts on the "Yanig sa Taguig" blockbuster fight card headlined by the twelve round battle between Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao and IBF No. 4 super bantamweight Fahsan 3K Battery on December 11.

Murad identified Gorres' opponent as Chaiyong Distar who has a record of 12-2 with 11 knockouts. In an overseas telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard, Fahsan's manager Jimmy Chaichotchuang said Distar "is a very good fighter with a strong punch" and was ready to take on Gorres. He said Distar was "one of my good fighters."

Gorres who returned recently from Los Angeles where he trained for over a month under Freddie Roach at his Wild Card Gym has been eager to get into the ring and show fight fans what he has learned from the ace American trainer who is expected to be in Manila to supervise the final phase of Pacquiao’s training for the December 11 showdown sponsored by SMART, Talk N' Next and Solar Sports with the support of Taguig Mayor Freddie Tinga. The fight will be staged at an open air arena in front of MC Home Depot at The Fort in Taguig.

Gorres is currently training at the ALA Boxing Gym of well-known Cebu boxing patron Tony Aldeguer. The 22 year old Gorres, a stylish southpaw, said the biggest thing he learned from Roach was self-confidence. Roach also corrected two of Gorres' faults which were that he kept his right hand down low and his feet too far apart. Roach said he was "impressed" by Gorres even more than Philippine super featherweight champion Bobby Pacquiao who will face hard-hitting Dexter Delada on the "Yanig sa Taguig" undercard. Tickets for the December 11 fight card are already on sale at all ticketnet outlets and the Wild Card Gym in BF Homes, Paranaque.
