WBO super flyweight champion Fernando Montiel (38-2, 28KOs) has promised a new and improved look when move up in weight to fight Diego Oscar Silva(24-1, 12KOs) for the vacant WBO interim-bantamweight title on March 28 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Montiel had previously moved up in weight in 2006, but lost a close split-decision to then WBO bantamweight champ Jhonny Gonzalez.

"My dream is on the verge of being completed. I'm positive of shining in the ring because I feel know what I can do and I know my limits. I'm positive that I will provide everyone with a lot of good action and they are all going to be proud of me.
give a very worthy action and all they are going to be proud of me," Montiel told ESTO.

"We have worked a lot on my power in the gym.  They say that I do not have the body to be a bantamweight or super bantamweight, but it's a matter of intelligence. One example is [Floyd] Mayweather, who was champion at junior middleweight, but was really a super lightweight or natural welterweight and it's his intelligence that got him there."

He looked back at the close loss to Gonzalez and doesn't want to make any of the same mistakes.

"I wasn't very mature at that time and I lacked aggressiveness. I've changed my style a little, now I am more aggressive and I risk a lot more in the ring - things that I didn't do with Jhonny. I never planted my feet to throw strong punches and perhaps that would have been the difference," Montiel said.
