Several Boston television stations have reported that Worcester junior middleweight prospect Enrique Palau was killed in a car accident earlier today.

According to police Sgt. John J. Fallavollita, Mr. Palau, 27, was at the wheel of a 2004 Honda Civic that apparently went through at stop sign at the end of Dorchester Street in Boston, and crossed nearby Grafton Street before slamming into a stone wall. A young woman was also killed in the crash.

No other cars were involved.

Palau had just won a fight last Friday by way of a six-round decision, and was starting to make noise as a talented prospect on the rise. He sported a 7-0 record, with 5 knockouts, and was being trained by well known Boston fighter Sean Fitzgerald.
