The trainer for IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green, Angelo Hyder, has advised his fighter to consider a move to heavyweight to challenge WBA champion David Haye. Green is not a big cruiserweight and usually weighs closer to the light heavyweight limit. The popular Australian fighter is trying to get a big fight after last December's first round stoppage of Roy Jones Jr. He knocked out Manny Siaca in three rounds on Wednesday.
"I've suggested he fight at heavyweight. From my eyes, there's no cruiserweight in the world that can go with him, he's going to knock them all out. As soon as he hits any of them clean he's going to knock them out. I think he could beat David Haye. I would seriously like him to fight David Haye," Hyder told AAP.
According to Hyder, Evander Holyfield has expressed some interest in fighting Green. The last time Holyfield fought a cruiserweight coming up in weight was James Toney in 2003. Toney stopped Holyfield in nine rounds.
