WBA light heavyweight champion Danny Green (25-3, 23KOs) has fired back at Aussie rival Anthony Mundine (30-3, 23KOs), the "regular" WBA super middleweight champion. Mundine, who recently announced his Feb. 27 bout against Nader Hamdan in Sydney, brought out a chicken before the media and began tauting the chicken, who was supposed to be Green.
"The chicken that Mundine is talking to is of the same mentality as 'Choc'," Green said. "While he's talking to a caged chicken, I'm like Foghorn Leghorn, still crowing about being the WBA light-heavyweight champion of the world."
Mundine won a clear decision over Green in 2006, a rematch is being planned for 2008. Green is claiming to have the advantage at light heavyweight and says he's ready to get revenge in the rematch. He also blasted Mundine for his performance against Manny Siaca.
"He obviously has forgotten about his dismal defence against Manny Siaca when he got dropped and threw as many punches as [my last opponent Stipe] Drews did in his own backyard in front of his own crowd and was running the whole fight. It was a disgrace."
