Filipino boxers have taken a beating once again in Thailand with Alfren Bulala losing by an eleventh round knockout to Pan Asia Boxing Association featherweight champion Saohin Srithai Condo and Jake Verano losing by a third round TKO to WBA No. 2 ranked bantamweight Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym last Monday in Bangkok.

Bulala was dropped three times as Condo who improved his record to 45-11 with 30 knockouts battered the Filipino who was reportedly rated No. 2 in the country. Condo decked Bulala in the fourth round with a solid shot and repeated the feat in the eighth round before a vicious right hook to the mid-section in the eleventh round dropped Bulala and forced the referee to call a halt at 2:33 of the round. The 31 year old Condo was coming off a seventh round TKO victory over Serikhzan Yeshmangbetov last October 26. Serikhzhan was the same fighter who decked Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao before losing by a fifth round TKO on March 15, 2003 at the Luneta.

Verano was no match for the hard-hitting Poonsawat who remained undefeated in 20 bouts with 15 knockouts. The Thai who is gunning for a world title shot hammered Verano into submission in the third round. It was the Filipino's second loss in row having dropped a unanimous ten round decision to Masanori Sugita of Japan last December 5.
