Add two more defeats for Filipino boxers in Thailand even as the Games and Amusements Board appears helpless or unwilling to stop the massacre. In the latest such misadventure little known Sherwin Sales lost an eight round unanimous decision to WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wongjongkam who reportedly outclassed the Filipino in every round.
Pongsaklek who was coming off a unanimous ten round decision against former WBC International flyweight champion Randy Mangubat who suffered his fourth defeat at the hands of the talented Thai world champion, improved his record to 54-2 with 29 knockouts .
The other Filipino fighter who lost was veteran Leo Escobido who was knocked out at 2:13 of the fourth round by Asian Boxing Council flyweight champion Panomroonglek Kratingdaenggym in his first title defense. The Thai champion dropped Escobido in round three and then put him away for good with a vicious left uppercut.
