After a 14 month layoff, former two-time IBF flyweight champion "Archie" Solis (34-2-3, 21 KOs) will return to the ring on November 3 at the Multipurpose Center in Hermosillo. Solis was scheduled to return late last year, but the boxer was allegedly attacked during training camp by 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. According to Solis' side of the story, Canelo was under the impression that Solis was dating his former girlfriend, which Solis denies. Solis suffered a broken jaw and lost several of his teeth during the incident.

After receiving the necessary medical clearance, Solis' return was set down to be part of the card that marks the debut of two-time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez, and the card will air on TV Azteca 7.

Solis is preparing in Tijuana, where fitness coach Raul Robles is grooming the boxer's power, endurance, and reaction speed. Solis want to reclaim the IBF flyweight world championship, which is now being held by John Riel Casimero.
