Antonio Orozco Returns on March 25th, Then Herrera?

By Steve Kim

On October 3rd Antonio Orozco defeated former world champion Humberto Soto over ten rounds in an HBO televised fight at the StubHub Center in Carson, California in what was considered a step-up fight for the undefeated junior welterweight, who hails originally from Garden City, Kansas.

His manager Frank Espinoza continues to work with Golden Boy Promotions on getting him positioned for bigger fights and title fight at some point in 2016. In the meantime, Orozco (23-0, 15 KO's) will have a fight in the interim. One fight they are looking at is a potential showdown with former WBA interim-champion Mauricio Herrera.

"Orozco's coming back on March 25th,"said the respected manager on Tuesday afternoon. "I spoke to Eric Gomez (Vice President of Golden Boy) today and the fight will be held at Fantasy Springs. The opponent is TBA and after that fight we'll probably fight Mauricio Herrera."

Orozco is currently rated in the top ten by the WBC, IBF and WBO.

Great. We get to wait 7-8 months to watch Orozco win a robbery over Herrera. #boxing

[QUOTE=Boxfan83;16387724]I like the way Orozco is being managed. I really hope they dont wear him down like they do other Mexican fighters and put him in alot of brutal wars early. Its good that hes not a champ yet so…
