Shortly after winning a world title in a fourth weight class, Erik Morales revealed that he would like to try to capture a fifth world in the 135 pound weight division.  In a story that ran on Boxingscene.com, Morales said that he wanted to face the winner of the title fight between Jorge Linares and Antonio DeMarco who fought last Saturday for the vacant WBC 140 pound title that was stripped from Tim Bradley.

DeMarco entered the fight a huge underdog and pulled off a dramatic come from behind victory by busting up and then stopping Linares in the eleventh round of their title fight.

When DeMarco caught wind of a potential fight with Morales, the fighter from Los Mochis, Sinoloa, Mexico was taken a back.

"Wow, wow, wow," stated an ecstatic DeMarco to Boxingscene.com. "He is a legend and it would be an honor to face him.  I would love to fight him."

DeMarco, who said that his victory over Linares was the second happiest day of his life after the birth of his daughter, went on to say that he wants his next fight to be a big fight. DeMarco hasn't commanded big purses thus far in his career but after his title winning performance he is in line for a significant raise in his next fight.

"I want to fight the bigger names and the difficult opponents.  I will leave my next opponent to my promoters," explained DeMarco.  "I will fight anyone they tell me to fight.   I still haven't made a lot of money in this sport and I would love to get the fights that will give me the chance to have security for my wife and daughter.  I am the bread winner and I still haven't really brought home the bread."

Golden Boy is pushing for a DeMarco-Linares rematch and WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios has also expressed interest in a title unification battle. It seems that DeMarco will have plenty of options for his next fight.
