Anthony Joshua: Deontay Wilder Has 2 or 3 Years Left in Career

ANTHONY JOSHUA believes Deontay Wilder could walk away from the sport within just TWO years.

But the Brit has told the WBC champion that he will not retire as No.1 without beating him first.
Wilder, 40-0 with 39 KOs, is preparing to face Joshua’s rival Tyson Fury before the year is out.

Undefeated duo Wilder and Fury claim that whoever comes out on top in clash this winter will be the premier heavyweight on the planet.

But IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO king Joshua - who takes on mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin at Wembley on September 22 - is already looking past the Russian.

A fight against the winner of Wilder-Fury has already pencilled in for April 13 at Wembley but Joshua said: “Me and Wilder is the best fight in the division.

“With Povetkin, I am looking past him because I am going for the big guns now.

“If you beat me and beat me in a rematch then you are set to be the king of the heavyweight division.

“But, if you believe it, then you have to sign a contract and get it done.

“Wilder will make a deal because if you believe you are better than me and you can prove it to the world in a global event, then why wouldn’t you fight me?

“And that’s to all of them, including Fury.”

Joshua believes the clock is already ticking on 32-year-old Wilder, after almost 10 years since his November 2008 pro debut.

He added: “That is a long time and he has been hurt by people like Eric Molina and others.

“I think maybe he has two or three years left.”
