Recently Gary Shaw gave an interview where he had some harsh things to say about his former fighter Alfredo “Perro” Angulo who just lost in his last fight on HBO against James Kirkland. Shaw went on to call Angulo a liar and a “bad dog” as he explained a fall out in negations for a possible Martinez fight while Angulo was still under his promotional banner.

Angulo was on the most recent edition of BoxingScene’s official radio show The Boxing Lab and responded to Shaw’s comments.

“I think [Gary Shaw] is the least knowledgeable person who should be talking about me. He’s the one who did a bad job with me. He’s the last person who should be talking” said Angulo. “If he had any [dignity] he wouldn’t even show his face yet alone talk about me in any manner”.

Another person who didn’t have any flattering things to say about Angulo was his former manager Mike Criscio. Ryan Burton asked Angulo what he thought about his former manager speaking bad about him. Angulo dismissed Criscio as easily as he did his former promoter.

“It’s the same thing. Both my ex-promoter and ex-manager, they really don’t know anything about what happened or is happening with me” responded Angulo. “I think they’d be better off just staying quiet. If there’s a question regarding me, the best answer they could give would be to tell them to ask me directly and not give any responses. They look like envious people and don’t know what they are doing or saying”.

While it looks like his former management are kicking him while he is down, Angulo reassures us he’ll be back and will bounce back from his loss.

“I simply had a bad night, that’s all. All us fighters have them at some point in our careers. I think the better fighter, while he falls, always gets up and continues on. And that fighter is me” said the Mexican warrior.

“To the fans of Perro, my supporters, you have my word that from the next fight on, you’ll see me move forward and you’ll see the same old Perro that the people know”.
