By Chris Morris

Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Lemoore, California - Rising heavyweight contender Andy Ruiz Jr. (25-0, 17 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Joell Godfrey (17-15-1, 6 KOs). It was Ruiz's first bout of 2015 and he dominated the action from start to finish, but he was unable to put away Godfrey, who took the fight on two days notice. All three judges had it 80-72.

Super welterweight Danny Valdivia (9-0, 7 KOs) stopped Jeremy Ramos (9-2, 3 KOs) in a battle of high drama. Both fighters went down in the second, and then Valdivia finished Ramos with a big bomb at 1:40 of the sixth.

Jude Rate had 39-37 while Salmon and McKight scored a shut out at 40-36 to keep Lopez' record clean.
