MONTREAL (AP) - Librado Andrade won a WBC super-middleweight eliminator bout Saturday when Canadian Otis Grant failed to answer the bell for the eighth round.
With the win, Andrade (23-0) became the mandatory challenger for WBC champion Markus Beyer of Germany.
After the loss, the 38-year-old Grant told the sellout crowd of about 600 at the Montreal Casino that he would likely retire.
"It's been a great roll, but I've got to bow out gracefully," Grant said. "But I'll talk it over with my family."
Andrade, from La Habra, Calif., knocked down Grant twice in the fifth round.
