Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has been verbally swinging at Chris Algieri all week. Later tonight in Macau, Roach's fighter Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight championship against Algieri at a catch-weight of 144-pounds.
Back in June, Algieri survived two knockdowns and a swollen eye to win an upset twelve round decision over Ruslan Provodnikov to capture the WBO junior welterweight title.
Despite showing heart and survival skills in that fight, Roach has predicted a first round knockout win for Pacquiao.
"If I was in Freddie’s shoes I would be talking a lot too, because he knows what the outcome of the fight is going to be and he’s got to blow a bunch of smoke and I feel for them. I love Manny Pacquiao but he’s not beating Chris and I think Freddie is aware of that and that’s why he’s barking," Tim Lane said.
