The WBC silver lightweight champion Alejandro Sanabria (23-1, 19KOs) has contradicted recent reports of a February bout with John Molina in Texas. Recent reports in Mexico had Sanabria facing Molina on February 17th in Arlington, Texas, but the fighter recently said that he expects to fight on January 28th in Mexico and wants a shot at the full WBC champion Antonio DeMarco.

"I'm working hard because I want the absolute title. I want to be world champion. I would like to face Antonio DeMarco. I'm going to continue working, because that's my motto. My promoter told me that I'm fighting on January 28. I do not have an opponent or venue, so I'm just preparing for that date," Sanabria said.
